Sorting and Washing of Aggregates & Sludge Treatment

GOSAG Sand washing units have been designed with a performance and accuracy higher than other conventional washing systems.

With a flexible and modular system, it is possible to integrate pumps, motors, tank systems and hydrocyclones.

This great variety of available combination options allows for optimally configured solutions, creating customized machines and systems to meet each plant’s needs.

The modular system is based on:

- 8 types of basins

- 14 types of centrifugal pumps

- 8 types of cyclones: Up to 1.200M3/h

- 8 types of dewatering screen units: up to 300 T/h

This allows the production of a complete range of standard units covering all the foreseeable needs.

The working principle of our sand washing machines focuses on the extraction of sand following application-specific parameters such as grain size, fineness, modulus, cleanliness, friability and the content of unacceptable elements (organic material, chloride, sulfate, etc.).

This functionality results in higher performance compared to other washing machines, such as wheels washers or washing screws.

The result is high-quality sand, with exceptionally low content of particles (lower than 75 μm), while retaining the fine sand.

Clarifier, flocculant dosing and Controlfloc

Our GOSAG clarifiers incorporate a slurry pump which pumps up the slurry in the central cone of the clarifier to the desired unloading point (as standard, the maximum pressure of pumping is 3 bar or 45 psi).

The pump is activated when the torque of the rake increases. This happens once the mud reaches the ideal consistency and concentration. When the concentration falls, it automatically stops.

Because of possible slurry accumulation due to an excess of filler, a lifting system for the rake is integrated, and is automatically controlled by the rake torque. This solution prevents overloads in the rake. By changing the configuration in PLC, it also allows to work as a thickener tank.

A complete solution of flocculant preparation, dosing and automatic control is also available.

The combination of our AUTOFLOC permits the flocculant preparation and dosing to be carried out via a pump system and the speed is controlled via a frequency converter according to the filler conditions of the inlet material.

The CONTROLFLOC has been designed to control this process automatically without the need of dedicated staff.

The operating principle of this equipment automatically controls the dosing of flocculant solution, taking constant samples of the mixture of dirty water / flocculant solution and analyzing flocculation time and water quality.

Depending on the result of the analysis, the frequency converter restricts the dosage pump, changing the feed of flocculant solution to obtain high-quality recovered water while saving costs.

Demonstrated advantages:

- Efficient control over sludge concentration which means less water is wasted with the sludge.

- Higher concentration compared to other systems. This is especially important if the customer has a filter press.

- The automatic elevation protects all the system from over-concentration, which can happen when the filter press system has no space, or in case it’s stuck on the sludge line.

- Reprogramming the torque values in the automatic elevation system allows for our clarifier to be conveniently used as a thickener tank.

- The combination of our CONTROLFLOC (automatic dosing) and our AUTOFLOC (flocculant automatic preparation) permits an automatic flocculant dosing without constant supervision.
