The Nutty World of Almonds

Unlocking the Nutty World of Almonds

ALLGAIER's Innovative Processing Solutions

Almonds are a popular and healthy snack that people have enjoyed for centuries. They are packed with essential nutrients like protein, fiber, healthy fats, and minerals, making them a great addition to any diet. Almonds are a versatile ingredient and can be used in many different ways, from snacking on them raw to making almond milk, flour, and butter. However, the process of harvesting and processing almonds can be challenging, especially when it comes to separating them from stones when being recollected from the ground. That's where ALLGAIER Process Technology comes in with its innovative processing solution, the GSort densimetric table.

Almonds Processing Equipment: GSort Densimetric Table

Harvesting almonds is a multi-step process that involves several stages before they can be safely consumed or processed. After some almonds have fallen to the ground, they must be collected and screened to remove dust and separate the small and large pieces. The biggest challenge is separating the almonds from stones of the same size. This process can significantly drain time and resources, making it a costly and time-consuming affair.

In cooperation with a consolidated client in Europe, ALLGAIER Process Technology has developed a new solution to this problem using the GSort densimetric table. This powerful machine separates almonds from stones based on dry density, improving both efficacy and effectiveness with an accuracy of 99%.

GSort Light can process up to 36 tons/hour in one machine with a fraction of 50% stones and 50% almonds. This model is perfect for large-scale commercial almond processing operations, allowing for efficient and accurate separation of almonds from rocks.

Innovative Solution by ALLGAIER MOGENSEN

The Spanish division of ALLGAIER Process Technology was responsible for the adaptation of the GSort and screening solutions from the MOGENSEN division, providing clients with a complete solution from start to finish.

The GSort densimetric table uses the difference in the density of the almonds and stones to separate them. The almonds are lighter and float on top, while the rocks are denser and sink to the bottom. The table has a series of air jets that blow the almonds off the top into a separate container while the stones are removed from the bottom. This process is fast, efficient, and accurate, reducing the time and cost of processing almonds.

Dry separation is a highly efficient process that eliminates the need for water, making it a more sustainable and cost-effective solution. This separation method can significantly reduce water consumption, lower operational costs, and minimize environmental impacts, making it an ideal choice for Almond producers looking to adopt more sustainable practices.

As technology advances, we can expect to see even more innovative solutions in the food industry that will help us meet the growing demand for healthy and sustainable food.
