La Importancia del Proceso de Clasificación en Seco y su Impacto Medioambiental

The Importance of the Dry Sorting Process and its Impact on the Environment

For businesses in the bulk material industry, the importance of the material sorting process is critical to meeting environmental targets, recycling, and zero waste objectives.

Waste management planning is integral to reducing the operational impact on the environment, preventing high costs, and safeguarding business reputation. Compliance is also a key area for many industries.

Regulations imposed on some industries require sorted and separated waste to reduce impurities and improve recycling quality.

Effective sorting and processing waste materials are essential in diverting valuable resources from landfills for recycling and energy recovery. A good example is MSW plant and its organic fraction; as market leaders in compost refining with our dry densimetric separation technology, we were able to reach the new local regulations. This process can be seen on the following YouTube video, where the first unit of dry densimetric table was sold in California by our partner in USA:

As industries move forward, their environmental impact and its effects on climate change will be crucial for all businesses and their stakeholders.

Successful pre-screening is essential to ensure that materials being processed are prepared accordingly before sorting. Businesses must introduce an intelligent combination of the latest sorting technology and traditional engineering to meet these goals.

Allgaier Mogensen is committed to helping companies recover reusable material with the highest level of separation accuracy, with a current focus on industrial areas of chemicals, wood, waste, recycling, and glass manufacture and mineral processing.

We offer innovative solutions for the sorting of raw materials and additives based on density, color differences, brightness characteristics, item size, composition, and purity.

Industries such as recycling plants for waste, chemicals, wood, and foodstuffs need to separate dry materials based on their various densities. Densimetric tables use rising airflow and a vibrating, inclined base to separate materials. The more significant the difference in density of the products, the larger the grain size bands can be.

Densimetric Tables

Allgaier manufactures two Densimetric table models, the GSort and Type FM units, each one with its unique sorting capabilities and advantages for efficiently sorting and processing recyclable materials.

GOSAG Type FM densimetric tables are used in the separation of low-density products and medium particle sizes. These units can achieve high separation efficiency even with moist products such as compost. And have recorded up to 99.5% efficiency in municipal solid waste applications. Their robust design offers wear protection for normal to severe operating conditions.

The GSort is used for applications to separate products with high densities and grain size up to 80 mm. The GSort’s versatility encompasses a broad range of materials and processes. Ideal for industries handling recycling, plastics, glass, building materials, e-waste, fine metals, and many more.

Allgaier's densimetric tables innovative design not only improves water management but also reduces energy costs, making it an environmentally friendly alternative to wet gravity separators.

Sorting Technology

The MOGENSEN MSort has two units in the series that offer several sorting solutions to a vast range of materials.

MSort OPT: Can be used to sort bulk materials with an extensive range of compositions. Materials can be sorted based on their color, transparency, shape, or size, resulting in highly accurate detection and sorting, maximizing yields from bulk materials and minimizing errors.

MSort NIR: Uses near-infrared technology to consistently separate bulk materials with the same visual appearance, but that has a different chemical composition. Direct integration into a customer's process control systems offers a compact and robust sorting solution.

Combining the GSort dry density separation table with an MSort opto-electronic sensor sorter offers the possibility to separate or concentrate products minimizing or eliminating the use of water required by previous technologies, with a high environmental impact. The Mining industry consumes about the 3% of the world energy; a dry concentration option provides the possibility to reduce it down to a 10-20% range, with its associated CO2 emission reduction. In the following video you can watch a barite dry concentration plant using a GSort densimetric table:

Whether legally required to sort waste or to recover reusable materials concerning commercial aspects, businesses can no longer overlook the importance of the sorting process and its role in mitigating environmental impact.
